Obama needs only 34 out of a 100 Senators to support Obama on the Iran deal. This is because All the senators voted for the Corker bill 99-1 (Cotton being the only sane no vote). Before the Corker bill Obama would have needed 66 out of 100 Senators voting yes to approve the Iran deal.

All the Senators voted 99-1 for the Corker bill that made Obama’s Iran deal unstoppable. Senator Cotton was the only sane one voting against the Corker bill.

“With about 10 Democrats still to decide, it’s a lock that at least one of them will back Mr. Obama, giving him the 34”

Keep calm and... get a copy of the Fallout 3 video game to see our future...

“Behold!
He is coming with the clouds.

And evert eye should be blind with his glory.
Every ear should be stricken deaf to hear the thunder of his voice.

Let the men, women and children of the Earth come forth to gather and behold the power of atom. Let those who dwelled here in his favoured land, attend now to the word of the profit of Atom.

Come forth and drink the waters of the glow.
For this ancient weapon of war, is our salvation, it is the very symbol of Atom’s glory. Let it serve as a reminder of the division that has occurred in the past. And the resplendence of the promise of our division in the times to come.

Give you bodies to Atom my friends! Release yourself to his power! Feel his glow, and be divided.

There shall be no tears, no sorrows, no suffering.
For in the division, we shall see our release from the pain and hardships of this world. Yay, your suffering shall exist no longer, it shall be washed away! In Atom’s glow.
Burned from you in the fire of His brilliance.

Each of us shall give birth to a billion stars, form from the mass of our wretched and filthy bodies. Each of us shall be mother and father to a trillion civilizations.
Each of shall know peace, and know an end to pain, and shall know Atom in His glory.

I urge you my friends, come drink with me and pray.
Glorious Atom, I give on to you these feeble bones, I present to your will, this frail body.”

Corker's bill had nothing to do with Congress's authority to approve or dis-approve Obama's Iran agreement.

Corker's bill was about "if and when" congress could re-apply Iranian sanctions that Obama had relaxed or apply additional sanctions.

Corker's bill was an alternative the Kirk-Menendez bill, which was first introduced into the Senate in Dec 2013. Kirk-Menendez gave Congress the authority to pre-emptively apply sanctions. Corker's bill limited Congress's authority on sanctions until after the agreement was consummated.

Corker's bill would win out over Kirk-Menendez because Mossad opposed Kirk-Menendez. It was after the 5 senators traveled to Israel in Jan 2015 that Angus Winn, McCain, and Graham would shift support from Kirk-Menendez to Corker.

Obama vowed to veto either/both bills. It was the negotiations between Corker, Ben Cardin, and Obama that modified Corker's bill such that Obama would not veto it. It was the negotiated agreement between Corker, Cardin, and Obama that shifted the bill from sanctions to approval.

Once Obama said no veto, the conflict would then shift to the floor of the Senate as to which amendments would be filed and who filed the amendments and which amendments would get a vote.

The democrats always wanted the option to approve or disapprove, based on the details of the agreement. But the democrats strongly suspected that the GOP would try to politicize the issue irregardless of what was in the final agreement.

The democrats' suspicions turned out to be true the day after the agreement was signed and large numbers of GOPers publicly opposed the agreement without reading it. That's when the GOP lost.

The bottom line was that the agreement was in the hands of the democrats and 13 of 46 democrats(28%) could kill it. It wasn't just that the GOP agreed to this, AIPAC and J Street also approved it.
