CNN amends GOP debate criteria
CNN ^ | September 1, 2015 | Mark Preston

Washington (CNN) CNN is amending the criteria for its Republican presidential debate on September 16, possibly opening the door for Carly Fiorina to join the other top-tier candidates on the stage.

The cause: a lack of national public polling following the August 6 debate has so far provided only three new polls to determine the lineup for the Reagan Presidential Debate, according to a CNN statement.

As a result, CNN reevaluated its criteria and decided to add a provision that better reflects the state of the race since the first Republican presidential debate in August, the network announced Tuesday.

Now, any candidate who ranks in the top 10 in polling between August 6 and September 10 will be included.

The adjustment may result in additional candidates joining the top-tier debate, but the final podium placements will not be known until the eligibility window closes on September 10.

Dr. Carson seems like a very nice person and smart. But I don’t see him as a serious candidate for the highest office in the land. (Or first in the line of succession)

Maybe good Senator.

Just my opinion.

Would love to see Fiorina displace the smarmy Kasich. Please. No more mailman stories.
Can’t wait for the seven dwarves to move along.

It’s both the RNC and the media. OTOH there isn’t a lick of difference between them anyway.

Let’s just include everyone. Give each a 1 minute question and give the Moderator 30 minutes.

September 2011 debate only had 8 candidates.

How are they going to whittle this down if 10 candidates are chosen every time and you have 7 others waiting in the wings. This insanity of including everyone needs to stop. I hope CNBC puts their foot down in the October debate which will be all about the economy.

You would think that as interesting as this race has become, polling places would be putting out polls left and right.

Trust me, they are polling like crazy. As soon as Trump starts to slip, they will trumpet them to every corner of the earth.

What about Gilmore and Bobby Jindal? Jim Gilmore needs to be in this debate, too. He is a former governor. Jindal is a sitting governor. Show some respect! Santorum should be in it too - he is going to win Iowa he said! Mitt Romney is about to jump in and hasn’t had a chance to poll yet. To be fair, Romney should also be included in the next debate. Anyone that has ever run or is running should be in the debate. As Reince Priebus said, the more the merrier! /s

CNN changed the debate rules to bolster the attack on Trump.

Trump is going to be attacked by a woman now.

polling places would be putting out polls left and right. “

Although they’re not the smartest people on the planet, they are smart enough to know that if you know you are not going to like the answer, you don’t ask the question.
