A McKinley supporter in 1896 was the one who named it, informally. Later it was named officially along with a national park, in 1917.

Yup, the naming was a campaign move by a prospector who supported McKinley and the gold standard over the Silver standard.

IOW BFD. The locals, including Conservatives, use Denali.

As I said on another thread, this is just noise and a distraction. Also most likely an attempt by Obama to bait Republicans into looking like a**es.

Just point out to the Proggies that the mountain now shares a name with one of the least fuel efficient passenger vehicles out there (and one designed to cater to the 1%), and walk away.
