That ‘modest proposal’ is something you could drive a truck through, we are either a nation of laws, or we are no nation at all.

If someone is in this country illegally, they’ve got to go. IF upon review of their personal situation, their work history, and LACK of any criminal offenses, they can perhaps be classified as eligible to return to the United States in a legal manner.

The ‘86 amnesty legislation which received the signature of Ronald Reagan was SUPPOSED to solve this issue, and had it been enforced and not undermined and sabotaged by the likes of the Dead Fat Teddy Kennedy and his fellow ‘RATS, we wouldn’t be facing this situation today.

Enforce the laws on the books. That’s MY ‘modest proposal’.

This is not an accident, and it's not even a plot to get more illegals eventually legalized. It's much simpler. Dead Fat Teddy, drug-addled Barack, Shrieking Pelosi, Act of Love Jeb, and their ilk want illegals here illegally because they provide a compliant, low-cost labor force. US citizens are neither compliant nor low-cost, and legal immigrants may be compliant but they cost as much as Americans. Crony capitalism produces a bias toward creating an underclass of illegals because illegals produce the highest profits. I'm a big fan of real capitalism, but the manipulated big government version disgusts me.
