Quickcrete concrete mix is about 3.59 a bag at Home Depot.

Some of the special stuff (fast cure, resurfacer, etc.) with special additives is over ten dollars a bag.

Wanna hear insane? My wife bought an 18 pack of eggs from Wal-Mart today and didn’t notice the price on the receipt until she got home, $6.53.

It was the price for a 94-pound bag of cement--not pre-mixed concrete. But Portland cement is about $5 or $6 lower in price at Home Depot, too. Problem is, the nearest Home Depot to my place is very nearly 100 miles.

County zoning laws, ordinances and business property taxes are outrageous in some of these rural areas--as outrageous as main street businesses that keystone prices (double the amount of cost).
