CNN Is Screwing Over Carly Fiorina
PJ Media ^ | 08-28-2015 | Michael van der Galien

[MUST WATCH VIDEO]

Businesswoman turned politician Carly Fiorina is angry with CNN. The reason? The network is likely to leave her out of its prime time debate because she’s supposedly not polling in the top 10.

The only problem with that? She clearly is.

As Howie Kurtz explained on Fox News, CNN, however, is using older polls — from before the first Fox News debate — to assemble its “top 10″ of candidates. It’s clear that this is extremely bad for Fiorina, since she barely had name recognition before that debate. After it, however, she quickly surged in the polls and suddenly become a top contender.

You’d think that CNN would understand that debates actually matter and that a few weeks (let alone a few months) are an eternity in politics, but they’re having none of it. From the looks of it, the cable channel will not change its selection process. This means that Fiorina will once again have to participate in the kids’ table debate, missing out on the big audience that the top 10 debate is sure to draw since they’re up in prime time.

Of course, CNN could change their system in the blink of an eye, but they’ll likely refuse to do so because they don’t want to “give in” to the demands of one of the candidates — says Kurtz. Well, of course they wouldn’t. To the networks, this entire primary process is — of course — not about the actual candidates, but about themselves. It’s about their ratings, their influence, their power and their reputation. Republican voters can lose, as long as the networks win.

The Canidates should dictate how this works. Not the media. Cancel the debate until CNN shows they have a clue. Moderators should be chosen not directed by the media. This is why the Repubs always lose these debates. The press is always pro RAT. Even Fox.

The Clinton News Network doesn’t want Carly in the debates. Hillary can’t play the gender card against her.

"Not a Carly supporter given some of her more liberal positions"

If Carly's a "liberal" then may our country be smitten with "liberalism."

Yes, I know she's only right on 6 of the 7 points on illegal immigration, but I am more than willing to do it that way. Funny how people are so willing to grant Trump's recent "flaming hair" liberalism as acceptable because "he had to do what he had to do" to become a multi-billionaire, but are unwilling to grant Fiorina's relatively very slight tilt away from "pure Conservatism" when running for Senator in deep blue California.

Interesting that they guy who was campaigning to get her fired at HP now admits it was a mistake, she took the long view, the Board was thinking quarterly.

She's to the left of Cruz, to the right of Rubio (and Trump), and she'll beat the crap out of any Democrat running.

The fact that the RNC is even allowing CNN to hold a debate after the Candy “get the transcript” Crowley incident shows how utterly gullible they are. They don’t deserve to be holding any debate, ever again, unless it is a Democratic one.

The debate is 3 weeks away. There will be enough polls between now and then to put iCarly in the debate. She’ll replace Rand Paul or Krispy Creme.

There is a new poll every day. Use the last one before the debate. The RNC should do the deciding. Not CNN.

"the problem is the RNC. They chose CNN and they(RNC) can make the rules.

The RNC did cede the rule-making to the networks, so the cake is baked, The rules are dumb (why should a poll from May count as much as one in August?), but they iz what they iz. Have to wonder if CNN wanted candidates with established names, knowing that they are likely weaker in the general. Bush, Santorum, Perry, Huckabee, Christie are most favored by these rules, because that had some name recognition going into the whole thing. Probably they didn't think about Trump's Entertainment World name recognition.

“Hard to believe that in this day and age, that CNN is unable to adopt to expected rapid change because they made their inflexible “rules” in the recent past.”

Agree that the rules should have been given more thought. The problem is though, if an exception to current rules should be made for Carly the current tenth place person would have to be bumped - in which case that person would scream foul. Umm, think I’m gonna switch to something more intellectually challenging, a Man vs Food rerun is about to come on :)

i>Figures do not lie, but liars figure. The only reason CNN would insist on using an out-of-date poll is because there is someone on that older poll that they want to keep in the running.

Bingo! I'm not a Carly fan but what you say makes more sense than anything else I've seen.

“They don’t want anyone to see a woman to use as a comparison with Hillary. I’m not for Fiorina, but she’d make Hillary look dreadful — strong, smart, competent, well spoken, honest (probably), etc.”

Exactly my first thought just from reading the headline,

They want Hillary to appear in contrast against the old boys club,

Actually that business model belongs to those little ATM machines in convenience stores.

Those are a license to steal.

Who cares? Fiorina in another Cheap Labor Express candidate.

She supports “Comprehensively Screwing Americans Out Of Their Country.”

I bought an HP printer for $30 a couple years back. I printed about ten pages with it before the ink cartridge ran out of ink. When I went to buy replacement cartridges it was $50 for the pair.
It’s not unethical so much as it’s low rent. I didn’t make that mistake again...buying an HP printer.

I no longer like Fiorina, but she should be in this debate.

CNN is a joke. The RNC is a joke for going on their pitiful channel.

I don’t know what the alternatives are after FOX went all establishment/Democrat on us the last debate, but there is no way the RNC should give CNN or NBC a debate after the hack jobs they have done in past elections.

If done, they should meet every criteria our top 5 candidates ask for. Personally, I would prefer no moderator and a cluster of 100 questions from republican voters that are randomized and then asked to each candidate. Give them 30 seconds each. Randomize the order they are called in between each question set.

I care because it shows there are strong Republican women that don’t sound like awful screeches like Hillary.

I don’t support Fiorina, but I want her in this debate.

And Jake Tapper will be the Moderator! He said that 24 BILLION viewers watched the first debate. Let's see how many viewers the Clinton Network draws?

No thanks!
