The Army just HAD to charge the slimy traitor, but since Obama adopted his family in the rose garden there is no way the Army is allowed to proceed further while this POS CIC is in charge. Meanwhile the deserter continues to draw his pay, is awarded more stripes and laughs at America.
The reason Bergdahl got promoted during his time with the Taliban was because the Army did NOT list him as either being “Absent Without Leave” after 30 days being gone or as a deserter. Without being classified as either, he continued to be eligible for regular promotions just as if he were a PoW like those held in the Hanoi Hilton.
The USMC had a private who went AWOL during Vietnam and was seen to be working with the VC/NVA by other American PoWs. When he finally decided to come back to the US after being in Vietnam for 20+ years after the war ended. The Marines decided to just give him a dishonorable discharge as an E-1 with no pay or privileges. Thus if Bergdahl had been carried as AWOL, he would have been reduced automatically to E-1.
