Smells like you boys have had enough!
Actually, my ghost and habanero plants were eaten by bugs last year, while my jalapenos were untouched. I was pretty amazed that there were bugs that tough—I thought even the foliage would be immune. Florida has some tough critters!
So if a fire happens and several of the grenades burn, would they call it a chili cook off?
Ya....that’s what I thought too!
Pork Chili, of course.
That’s what I thought - they were filled with those little guys.
Kind of funny that I picked the only source whose proof readers were sleeping on the job. Everyone else seems to have the spelling right.
If they shoot a chilly grenade do you need to wear a sweater? Or did they mean chili?
I’ve grown them and they are not immune from Moths that like to drop their spawn on them and the baby caterpillars will drill right through the peppers without hesitation.
You also need to be careful if you use an oven to dehydrate the peppers as the resulting vapors will have an adverse effect upon anyone in the building.
That being said, I still have a couple of large Mason Jars of dehydrated Ghost Peppers and you are correct, just a small amount of the powder is very powerful. I find it has an interesting “fruity” flavor that you can enjoy for a few seconds before the burn begins.
They should’ve used the bacon bazooka instead. He probably would’ve given up sooner.
Bhut Jolokia have a heat rating of 2,400,000. Scoville unit. We grow them. My wife made some pepper sauce out of them and it ate through the jars lids!
I’m trying to figure out a way to put the juice in paint balls for self defense. So far the juice melts the balls.
Correction to my last post. The Bhut is only 1,000,000. heat units. The Carolina Reaper rates at 2,400,000 units.
