Sickening picture.
The truth hurts.
There was a church in Lackawanna NY that closed a few years ago - St. Barbara’s. Lackawanna is a town that has been recently settled by many Yemeni immigrants.
The Church was torn down quickly by the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, even though many other closed, disused churches around Buffalo are still standing, and are trying to be sold or converted to other uses. The reason given for the fast demolition was that the building had dangerous structural problems.
I can’t help think that the local Catholic diocese saw happening to St. Barbara’s exactly what this article describes. If so - then good for them.
