New Polls: More Bad News for Hillary, More Good News for Trump

RUSH: There's all kinds of new polls out, ladies and gentlemen. A new Quinnipiac poll. You know what the word most commonly associated with Hillary Clinton is? "Liar." I'm not kidding. The second most closely associated word Hillary Clinton is "dishonest." And the third most commonly associated word with Mrs. Clinton is "untrustworthy." And she is the Democrats' leading nominee. And Joe Biden is getting out that he doesn't know if he's got enough emotional fuel in the tank.

He just doesn't know if he's got it.

On the Republican side, there's big news with Trump. Trump has told Republican brass that he will forgo a third-party run. That could be a game changer. Well, I don't know, inside the RNC if it's gonna be a game-changer, but that has been one of the primary roadblocks that several -- and there are many. Don't misunderstand. I don't want to overemphasize this. But one of the early hooks that Trump opponents had to latch onto was, "Hey, the guy won't even take a pledge not to run third party.

"How the heck could you support that guy?"

Well, he's taken that hook away from 'em, and so now they've gotta glom onto other reasons to see they're not interested in Trump. Meanwhile, he has hit 40%. This is a Gravis (or Grah-viss. I'm not sure how to pronounce it) Marketing poll, front-runner Trump at 40%. It's the first time a candidate has reached above the 30% mark. This outfit, Gravis Marketing, does political polls via robo-calls, so maybe only Trump supporters are enthusiastic enough to actually respond to 'em. It's not one of these scientific polls, but it is a new number that nobody else has hit, and it fits with the Trump momentum.

When Joe Biden starts to look like an attractive substitute, you are in trouble.

That poll on words associated with a candidate? If they did it for Biden, “Dumb as a box of rocks” would be contending for #1 with “5 cans short of a 6-pack.”

Reading the methodology, I think Rush misspoke about the poll not being a scientific poll.

Rasmussen, for example, also uses canned robocalls and always has. The issue is how they sample, weight, quantify, etc.

This one says they have a 2.5% moe. It might be registered voters instead of likely voters. I’d have to recheck that one.

Mark my words: Trump running 3rd party will NOT happen. What WILL happen is the uniparty will run a 3rd party candidate to throw the election to Hillary(or Biden).
Recall that the last time the GOP nominated a non-approved candidate, they assigned the RINO John Anderson to run 3rd party and throw the election to Carter. Fortunately, Carter and Anderson were so bad, and the “non-approved” candidate so awesome, that their plan failed.
I wonder who the 3rd party RINO would be? Kasich perhaps.

I think Hillary and joe are so bad its not going to matter what the Republicrats do.
I am going to be the first to call a landslide for Trump.
Trump hasn’t even picked a vp. When he does, if it is a solid conservative, and a high energy person like Trump says, watch for his numbers to go through the roof.

It’s a long, long way out, but I’ve said for six months that any Republican not named Bush would be Hillary. If it’s Trump, it could very well be a landslide electorallly, although the popular vote is a lot tougher now with the two big lib states, NY and CA, putting millions of votes in the D column.

This one says they have a 2.5% moe.

Did you say "moe"?

I can’t speak to California, but I believe that Trump would very likely carry New York and New Jersey as well. The northeast likes him and sees him as “one of their own”.

Well, that’s a bridge too far for now. But we’ll see in a year.

We will indeed. IF Trump can maintain his momentum, the results of the New York primary on Feb 2nd will be most telling, it will make or break his campaign, as I see it that is a “must win” for Trump.

I believe he will carry New Jersey.

I’m not sure about New York even though it’s his home. He’s probably the only one who could carry it.

That isn’t his strategy-—he is targeting a “southern strategy” based on the SEC primary states. NY hasn’t even banned mentioned.
