After raising a stunning $120 million, Bushs fundraising operations are finding it difficult to keep pace.
There are signs that Jeb Bushs fundraising juggernaut is losing some momentum, after banking a stunning $120 million for his campaign and super PAC in the first half of the year. A prominent Florida donor backing Bush said the former Sunshine State governor and his supporting super PAC are having to work even harder to keep up the pace, as hard-money contributions have been harder to come by in recent weeks.
The debate performance scared a few people, said Brian Ballard, a Tallahassee lobbyist backing Bush. But I think the campaigns trouble raising money right now is not because of his performance, but theres some donor fatigue after that $100 million. Ive been on some donor calls and its a hard sell for hard money.
With a little more than a month left in the years third quarter and the second Republican debate weeks away, Bush is continuing a breakneck fundraising schedule, sandwiching a town hall at a Veterans of Foreign Wars Post here Tuesday morning between fundraising events in Denver Monday night and Salt Lake City Tuesday afternoon.
Bushs spokesman Tim Miller acknowledged Tuesday that the campaign is working to control its expenses, a story first reported Tuesday by The New York Times. But he stopped short of saying that its because fundraising has slowed.

That’s a shame. I may be laughing on the outside but crying on the insi....ok, I can’t even finish that thought. That’s not true. I’m laughing on the inside too.
kind of sucks to burn 20 million on a weekend kick Trump Blitz and then see yourself lose 10 points in the polls doing it.. LMAO
Good. The sooner he drops out of the race, the better.
Wow.
One of the many things that irritated me about the McCain campaign (and most RINO campaigns) was the way staffers were living like rock stars on donor money.
I actually prefer a frugal campaign. I don’t love Trump but he does have a frugal campaign going on and that I can appreciate.
All the more prescient of Cruz to not attack, even praise, other candidates.
When Perry, then Bush, then Linda, and so on drop out... the pieces now will accrue to either Trump or Cruz.
Perhaps the way things play out determines between Trump/Cruz versus Cruz/Trump.
Right To Rise PAC have already spent $10 million dollars of their donors money and haven’t even done a major advertising campaign yet. Their donors are furious and Mike Murphy is about ready to get fired.
It irritated me that McCain and Bush, my two least favorite Republican candidates in the respective elections, were and are the candidates whose campaigns bombarded me the most with their junk mail requests for money.
Good riddance to both!
I doubt Bush will drop out before the Primaries begin no matter what. Trust me, the MSM will do whatever it takes to keep this candidacy viable for as long as possible. Like McCain, they want him to get the nomination so he can take a dive in the General Election.
My hope is that he does awful in IA and NH, and is forced to drop out after Super Tuesday.
Hope it drys up totally.
I dont love Trump but he does have a frugal campaign going on and that I can appreciate.Yea well it is his money and really none of your business anyway. But then he's not used to spending other peoples money like ALL the other candidates do their entire political lives.

People do tend to be a bit more frugal when spending their own money rather than other people’s. If the politicians had to fund programs with their own money, we would never have any debt.
