Controversial sports radio host Matt Jones is considering challenging U.S. Rep. Andy Barr for the 6th District Congressional seat in 2016.
Jones, an unabashed supporter of President Barack Obama, first confirmed he has been approached by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee to the Lexington Herald-Leaders Sam Youngman on Sunday.

Hillary Clinton and Kentuckys gubernatorial race
Chuck Todd, the host of NBCs Meet the Press, has already predicted that Kentuckys gubernatorial election could be the last of the Obama wars, but now the Todd says Hillary Clintons expanding problems with her private email server could play a role too.
In a clip from NBCs Morning Joe, promoted by the Republican Governors Association, Todd says that its hard enough for Kentucky Democrats to run in the current political environment, but that Clintons email drama muddies the waters even more.
I have heard on the ground this Hillary thing is like, its the last thing they need. If they lose this race, they almost would attribute it more to Hillary than Obama, Todd said. So, thats your definition of a political bomb.

Why would Hillary’s email be an issue in a Kentucky race?
I lived in that Congressional district. Matt Jones will have a snowball’s chance.
I would assume further damaging to the Democrat brand as Hillary was seen as less unpopular than Obama, but now that’s out the window as well.
It’s a long time until the election. I think people are calling the demise of Hillary Clinton way to earlier.
A little over 2 months...I suppose that is a long time politically, but she won’t full recover in her popularity here by then and certainly Obama’s won’t be.
I would think the fact that Jones is a Duke law graduate would cost him many votes in Kentucky Wildcat land even though he has a wide following on his UK oriented sports web blog.
I would rather have another hole in my ass than listen to your opinion
‘Atch funny ri dere, an’ I don’ care who you are.
Rand Paul is also a Duke graduate.
What will hurt Jones is that he is an ultra-liberal in this conservative district. If Ben Chandler couldn’t hold on to it against a no-name like Barr, I doubt Matt Jones who is even further to the left of Chandler will be able to snatch it back from Barr as an incumbent.
