Pataki: Trump Immigration Plan ‘Un-American, Outrageous and Demagogic’

Sunday on WABC New York’s “The Rita Cosby Show,” Republican presidential candidate former Gov. George Pataki (R-NY) said Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s immigration plan of deporting the over 11 million illegal immigrants currently living in the Untied States and then letting the good people back in the country after being screened, and ending birthright citizenship is “un-American, outrageous and Demagogic.”

Pataki said, “I’ll tell you, this is crazy. First we have to secure the border, and know that people come here illegally. But think about the idea. Whether or not it’s Constitutional… Requires a Constitutional Amendment, or, as Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 80% said, getting something through Congress. We’re going to send 11 million people back to wherever they came from? It’s just senseless. And by the way, you know, you have a child, 7, 8, 9, 10 years old, born in America, speaks fluent English, never been to Mexico, or wherever his or her parents may have came from, we’re going to send police, or troopers, or soldiers into a classroom? Drag that nine-year-old out of the fourth grade and ship them back to a country they’ve never been? I mean, this, this is not America. It makes no sense. It’s Trump being a demagogue. Yes, Immigration and controlling our borders is an important issue. But to tear America apart, by doing something like this, at a time when we have to focus on growing our economy, and protecting our national security, is just senseless.”

He continued, “Well, he says he’s going to do it! And it’s outrageous and demagogic and I think completely un-American. But it’s not just Trump. I’m disappointed that so many of the other Republicans seeking the nomination won’t stand up to him. Scott Walker basically agrees with him.

Since Trump has been in.. I’m finding out who the GOP really is... Each one who is angry at Trump shows me who they are.. and there have been some surprises. The true conservatives are but a very few. The rest belong to the club of the GOP. To think I ever thought they were working for us... it’s a crying shame that I ever believed in any of them.
As for GW.. he went home and forgot us. He didn’t say a word all the time obama has been slamming the country and blaming everyone in GW’s administration.. Cheny spoke out a few times and the media crucified him.. Still GW didn’t respond. To think that was proper... it wasn’t.

“The Rita Cosby Show...That’s just funny.”

Is that one of Bill’s victims? What they should ask Pataki is why won’t any networks put him on the air...if his views are so ‘mainstream’ in his distorted mind.

Obviously your analytical abilities are not the level I perceived them to be. Living in NYC creates a different type of conservative than your “perfect” image. But in relationship to the surrounding IS conservative.
In my county there are democrats that would probably fit the criteria of _conservative, if you didn’t look at their voting record. You obviously have no flexibility in your judgment. They fit in your box or do not qualify.

No, as usual, I'm WAAAAAY ahead of you. I understand NY, and it is liberal, which is precisely WHY we do NOT NEED this kind of left leaning NY or NJ or Massachusetts "conservatives" on the top of the ticket. You think you're making some great counter point, but you're actually proving my case. Thank you, game set match.

And your comment about "perfect" is just vacuous - a dodge. This is not about some kind of purity test. This is about a man who has 6 decades of liberal reflexes on display and 25 minutes of some conservative impulses. That's not a perfection issue. That's a red flag you are ignoring at your own peril. You're on the "told you so" list.

Yeah. I remember that.

Six years later I voted for the guy for President. Thought he was just misguided about 187.

Wrong. SOB opened the Mexican border 2 days after 9-1-1.

I was aghast. I thought, if this doesn’t mean the end of open borders, what would?

Apparently nothing with that family, which has clearly transferred its loyalty to a different nation and people.

There’s a word for that, and it starts with a T.

The left ignores the US Constitution when if/when it pleases them and/or forwards their agenda. So to should the right.
