There has been a lot of friction between the PRC and the DPRK in recent years. I'm not sure if a PLA force crossing the frontier would be in support of a DPRK action, or in fact attacking North Korea. The PLA has massed in the N. Korean border on several occasions in recent times, and it wasn't to help them.
Also pondering some variables- Chinese economic interests have taken a beating between a couple of big industrial accidents and the economic issues they've been having. The last thing that they might want is the NK Cabal starting a war that draws (through our presence and treaty obligations with other nations) the world into Korea. Establishing a Kim-free Chinese protectorate might be cheaper than a major war.
I don't know. I'm just a stressed out guy with a jaw infection that can't sleep. I don't see a second war on the Peninsula playing out the same way as the last.
Chew a clove or four of live garlic, if you can stand it.
try swishing with oil of oregano
Technically, the last one isn’t over. There was a cease fire accord brokered, and that is where it has been. The DMZ was created by that accord.
As sort of a PS, I hope your jaw feels better. Those things tend to get into a nerve and everything downstream from the infection on the jaw hurts like hell. (all the uppers on one side, or lowers, or both. An ice pack helped me when I had one—seemed to calm the nerve pain down.
Maybe the Chinese are just fortifying their frontier in case of massive counter attack by SK. Or if it looks like the Norks are going to be totally overwhelmed, the Chinese will come in and secure NK for their buffer zone.
