The Cato institute exists to promote free trade no matter how many American jobs it costs. Trump must be their worst nightmare.

In 2005 the Institute for Justice took another eminent domain case to the Supreme Court. By 5-4 the Court held that the city of New London, Connecticut, could take the property of Susette Kelo and her neighbors so that Pfizer could build a research facility. That qualified as a public use within the meaning of the Constitutions takings clause. The case created an uproar. Polls showed that more than 80% of the public opposed the decision. Justice Sandra Day OConnor issued a scathing dissent: Any property may now be taken for the benefit of another private party, but the fallout from this decision will not be random. The beneficiaries are likely to be those citizens with disproportionate influence and power in the political process, including large corporations and development firms
The Founders cannot have intended this perverse result.
See how they slipped this in. Nothing to do with Trump.

Stories like these, and I’m sure there are hundreds, will destroy Trump in the general. People losing their homes or small businesses so that the billionaire can get rich will make Romney’s 47% comment pale in comparison.

Trump did some stuff he shouldn't have done (I don't approve - don't misunderstand) and NOW all of that stuff REALLY matters? I can't recall any serious look into the Clinton's dirty dealings, moral outrage over Monica Lewinsky affair (plus half a dozen others) by the media, alleged conspiracy to murder OR Obama's background which is so questionable it makes Trump look like a school boy. Where's the consistency here? Suddenly all of the small offenses which were overlooked with the communist leftists suddenly are MAJOR offenses with Trump. Next, they'll investigate whether he squeezes the toothpaste tube in the middle or from the end.
Hypocrites!

Ronald Reagan was once a Democrat, and a union president to boot, and a divorcé, and generally a lousy actor. So what? I cared about what he said, and what he said he'd do, not his sorted past, as I do with this entire year's batch of candidates. It is as simple as that.

Trump grew up in an era when “urban renewal” was seen as a heroic act for builders. It’s not surprising that he kept that view that also aligned with his business interests.

Trump's support of Kelo should be VERY disturbing to anyone who loves liberty.
