Many in LA and most everybody in MS followed the very clear and specific advice of the National Weather Service and “Got the Hell out of dodge” as said by one popular TV host whose viewers followed his advice.

But we live in a society where victimhood is glorified.
For Conservatives, the highest honor is to be the victim of the media and the establishment. Conservatives wear their victimhood on their sleeve. But it isn’t just Conseratives. Liberals play the victim card. Non-politicals play the victim card.

Trump does not play the victim card.

they did it to Bush with Katrina and to his father with Andrew about a dozen years earlier.

their voter base is uneducated, uninformed, and prone to emotional reactions... so yeah, not at all suprised that their tactics worked. the GOP is the stupid party and they are mentally unequipped to defend themselves against baseless accusations such as those. not to mention that some of them are completely blind to the propaganda benefits that democRATS get from such behavior (e.g. Christie practically french-kissing Obama for visiting NJ just before the 2012 election).

truly the stupid party. i’m still registered as a republican, but i’m old enough (and wise enough) now to see them for the bumbling nincompoops that they really are.

Obama bought Christie off with a promise of free buffet for life.

They're not focusing on "Louisiana".....they're focusing on New Orleans. If New Orleans had been in Mississippi, then they would be focusing on Mississippi.

Media folks don't know that there even exists an America outside the big cities. Places like Pass Christian, Biloxi, etc. don't even impinge on their consciousness.

(Personal note...I am originally from S. Louisiana, and spent MANY vacations on the Mississippi Gulf Coast when growing up).

Interestingly Obama wasn’t on anyone’s radar 10 years ago.

For the love of God will everyone STOP CALLING IT SUPERSTORM. It was crap as far as storms go. I lived through Betsy, Camille, and Katrina. Sandy was nothing. Once again since it happened in the Northeast it had to be a superstorm. Progressives are very adept at using language to shape the conversation.
I agree with all your points. It just drives me nuts when we cater to the progressive agenda by using all their catch phrases. We need to shoot down their narrative whenever we can.

I like the guy and his whiskey bottle in photo two. Walking by the burning house. It kind of sums up everything. BTW I lived there most of my life so I can say this.
In fairness it didn't used to be that way. The city went to hell in the late 90’s and finally bought the farm with chocolate city mayor Nagin.
I got out of Dodge in 2000.

Many thanks. I can’t get over Christie sucking up to Bambi. I was disgusted. In fairness nothing a politician does should surprise me.

As someone noted, the new houses are built at the same level.

That doesn’t really matter, as the whole place is under sea level.

Furthermore, most do not realize the levee did NOT fail. It worked precisely as it was designed to. The problem was the storm exceeded the design limits. It is sort of like saying your car failed when you tried to line it out to 12000 rpm or take your plane into a dive in excess of its limits. No. It did not fail as designed. You exceed the specs.

Nagin was convicted on 20 of 21 corruption charges, including wire fraud, conspiracy, bribery, money laundering, and filing false tax returns related to bribes from city contractors.

Chocolate Kickback City.
