They always focus on Louisiana. Hell, Mississippi was the state that was divested and suffered more damage than Louisiana.
I’ve seen some other stories about Katrina 10 years later.
Apparently the media have decided to push “Katrina 10 Years Later” as a major story in the next few weeks.
I still can’t believe how we saw the liberals and the media politicize a hurricane.
I still can’t believe that, in spite of the governor of Louisiana being a Democrat, and the mayor of New Orleans being a Democrat, that everything that happened was blamed on a Republican, Bush.
I still can’t believe that, in spite of the fact that state and local governments are the key supplies and decision makers in disaster relief efforts, that everything that happened in New Orleans was blamed on Bush and the alleged lack of federal response. The state and local governments got a complete pass on their ineptitude.
Anyone who doubts the power of liberals and the liberal media to push an agenda, to shape a story, Hurricane Katrina is a prime example of what they can accomplish if they are out to push a narrow twisted distorted version of events.
That's the appeal of Trump I believe.
After 3 cycles of W, McLame, and Mediocre Mitt getting pummeled by the MSM, there's a guy who shoots back with big caliber weapons.
Which makes no sense. If you're rebuilding from nothing, and the old house was, say, 2 feet above ground level, why not build the new one 4 or 5 feet above ground level? It's no big deal.
Mississippi had a Republican governor as I recall. Mississippi didn’t whine and complain. It set about rebuilding. The media likes Louisiana because it still has thousands of “victims” of their own choosing who are desperate to go on camera and get in more digs at that terrible Bush, and those heartless Republicans.
To many “NUTS” in that Chocolate....City
I’ve lived there, it was a mess before Huey P. Long.
Louisiana, particularly nawlins/orleans parish, is politically corrupt, second only to Chicago/cook county.
That Landrieu family must be so proud, stand up take a bow-naggin, blanco, you’ve done a wonderful job of keeping this place a turd world cesspool!
If I remember, Bush called the governor numerous times, begging her to evacuate. Harry Reed called her more times to shelter in place, knowing Bush would be blamed. Brown wanted to know why there was no movement. Blanco went on a crying jag because she was in the middle. Brown asked late, “What do you need?” Blanco responded “EVERYTHING!” The FEMA rules require the State to SPECIFICALLY enumerate what is needed. After all, they ARE NOT there. Haley Barbour asked for, and received what he needed.
Sorry, but no. You just don’t know what you are talking about. We’ve had this conversation before.
Revrunt Farraklown says he knows that the WITE MAN blew up the levees!!!
What griped me the most was the suffering we were having in SE Texas, and SW Louisiana a month later with Rita, while the left wing MSM kept focusing on NOLA and Katrina
LA. Was hit for poor engineering.. The hurricane never touched its shores..
We all know the rest (but teaching to the choir)..
Agreed 100%.. And it is obvious the infiltration is much deeper than most people will admit..
Special on local TV in Houston about entire Black church populations that are totally made up of Katrina “refugees”. Black leaders from NOLA visiting and preaching about rebuilding there and trying to get these people to return. Hope they do.
Mississippi had a Republican governor as I recall...
Haley Barbour
Yes you are right, everything was blamed on Bush and he never defended himself. I am still mad at him today for his silence!
Almost certainly this contributed to the Obama re-election and guess what Republican was there to abandon his party and cash in on it? Chris Christie.
This fat, opportunist scumbag has no business running for president in the Republican party. And I am taking extreme pleasure in his 1% showing so far.
It was a liberal disaster in New Orleans.
Mississippi was the state that was divested and suffered more damage than Louisiana.”
So agree. But of the two Mississippi was viewed as having lost the least since they were viewed as not having much to begin with. We go to Pass Christian every summer for vacation. Just broke my heart to see all those beautiful old homes and so much of our southern heritage and culture that no longer exists. Every summer we notice a few more signs of restoration and rebuilding but so much remains to be done. But as long as NOLA has the French Quarter and Mardi Gras that’s all that seems to matter.
