He says he doesn’t condone it, and neither do I. But I was in high school once, where we had a real knockout teacher of English. And I don’t recall a boy in our class who wouldn’t have gone for it had it been offered. But she was evidently wise enough to know the standards of that day, which should be the standard today too, irregardless of the time.

The thing that grabs me here is her age. When I was 15 the tipsy predatory older women were 23 not 48.

The 48-year-old collapsed to her knees
Thought they were describing something else there for a second... I can tell you that no 15 year old red blooded American male feels raped when having sex with that women. It's totally different than a 15 yo girl and 48 guy. Just is.

For those wondering, the following response from Drift was in response to my ‘celebration of sin’ 24 hours ago in which I roundly condemned Ashley Madison garbage for sXitting all over their families.
Who’s judging now?

Wow you are quick to judge. Judging others is a sin.
So despite what you think, you are not without sin

“Nobody cares if men cry.”
Tell that to John Boehner.
In the case of older men, especially one in a high position of power, it’s rather nauseating to see them cry, unless of course they happen to be locked up in stocks in public square, being tared and feathered, or run out of town on a rail.

Over the last few years I’ve seen a TON of articles about the epidemic of female teachers having sex with their male students - yet not a one about a male teacher having sex with a female student. I wondered why men don’t do it any more.
Then, about four months ago, I saw the stats. Currently, men are caught about twice as much as women. Then it hit me. When we read about a man having sex with underage girls, we consider it a crime, when we hear about “hot” teachers having sex with underage boys we wish OUR teacher was that hot when we were in school. It’s a different psychology.
Plus, “Man bites dog” is always more interesting than “Dog bites man”.

Seriously, I do have to ask... what 15 year-old male is traumatized or suffers lasting mental issues from getting laid? I’m not arguing the legalities or moral issues, but I’m right sick of the over dramatization.

I dated a fifteen year old boy when I was sixteen, as I recall he wasn’t that “innocent”.

that's because women are actually different, both mentally and physically, as much as current social justice warriors want us to believe otherwise.
18 year old male gets "raped". 18 year-old female gets raped. See the difference in your emotional reaction? It's for reason. 15 year-old girl is ogling your 15 year-old son. 15 Boy is ogling your 15 year-old daughter. My reaction is QUITE different... and i think that is very normal. No need to explain the reasons, we all know it and feel it naturally. It is by design. And no, I don't condone sex with minors or even unmarried individuals engaging in sex. it's about perspective and why it is important

> The unfortunate reality is that a lot of guys, when they learn of situations like this, think either to themselves or out loud, where were women like this when I was 15 yrs old?!?
Yeah I was thinking the same. I wonder if the 15 year old felt he was “raped”by a cheerleader or if the parents are just trying to cash in. Thinking back to that age being an adolescent guy full of hormones I probably woudn’t have called it raped. I’m not saying its right but there is a big difference between young men and young women being raped. Just bing real here.
To: teeman8r
If you mean physically “distanced”, you are absolutely correct. As she should have. However, she was a very good teacher to whom I feel I owe a lot. Though that still doesn’t mean that I wasn’t hot for her, and as I mentioned, was every other red blooded 14 year old boy in the class.

I concur. If a teenage boy (with the testosterone of a full grown man pulsing through his veins) is able to ('ahem') 'rise to the occasion' and enjoyed himself, I doubt very much if in his mind, he considers himself a 'rape' victim.
I had a couple of situations that could have turned out like that when I was a mere 14 yr old, but fortunately (in retrospect) the women in question had higher moral standards and refused to cross that line, as much as my own raging hormones wished they would and I'm a better man for it.
And I agree on the parents, they may see this as a way of hitting the ever illusive lawsuit jackpot, after their boy ('ahem' again) "hit the jackpot".

Wise words Doug. I recall my 7th grade English teacher Sue Richardson, fresh out of college, first year as a teacher, looked like Barbara Feldon ('Agent 99') in "Get Smart" but *hotter*, and I had the biggest crush on her, would hang around after class, and I actually had the nerve (or the foolishness) to ask her out to dinner and she didn't upbraid me or rebuke me, she said that "it would be the easiest thing in the world to accept your invitation, but it would not be proper OR legal, but come back after you graduate from high school and over 18, and we'll talk about it, ok?"
That answer alone made me appreciate her all the more now.
And when I went back years later to look her up, she had moved on to another position somewhere else, and never found her again. :(
