The other side of that story is some people trying to haggle over good but used items marked down to basically giveaway prices. I knew some friends who held a garage sale where they had many items in good shape priced at a quarter or a dime....a fraction of what the items cost brand new. I always have some things that I mark up on purpose - if the person offers $5 less then I ponder a bit and end up saying okay. They think they got a bargain and sometimes I get more than I would if I hadn’t marked it up. Just part of the game.
