If you won’t commit to support the winner of the primary, you should be thrown out. If you want to run as an independent do it sooner rather than later.
I remember how the GOPe got behind Chris McDaneil in Mississippi when he won the primary. Oops, no they didn’t, they went bribed ‘rat voters to vote in the run-off against him, and put out fliers accusing him of being KKK. I have no loyalty to the GOPe, they showed their loyalty to me then.
