This is needed. But in a way, legislation is now small ball.

Had Congresses (Congressi?) past not abrogated their responsibilities, we would not be in the shape we are in today.
The fact that the legislative ‘status quo’ is maintained by a rolling cadre of professional politicians is even more troublesome. The Founders envisioned part-time engagement by legislators at the Federal level, not the elitist crap we have today.
Time to return to the principles in the Constitution, as drafted by the Framers, an adopted by the People. Take back the government.
Put up legislators in barracks buildings for the two months they ought to be in session each year. Cut their salaries to minimum wage, and stop all the ridiculous perks that are lavished on them at taxpayer expense.
Get FedGov back within the strict confines of the Constitution and dump all the other garbage...from Dept of Education to the EPA to Dept of Agriculture.
Dump the income tax in favor of a consumption tax model, ala the Fair Tax, without that goofy ‘prebate’ stuff.
Move decision making back to the State and local levels, where they are intended to be.
