This country needs a dad. You know, the old-fashioned kind like on the Waltons…wise, honorable, dedicated to his family and the truth. It shows in a number of ways.
HGTV’s blockbuster show last season was Fixer Upper, featuring Chip and Joanna Gaines from Waco, TX. They show what a couple with real values can do in their business (renovating dilapidated old homes) while building a vibrant, solid, joyful family with four children. Americans are hungry for real value, in their families not just their cars. Don’t sell people short.
Duck Dynasty, while contrived in many ways, nonetheless reflects a strong extended Christian family that strives to live by their faith.
I like that show.
I agree that the Gaines’ wholesomeness shines through.
