Trump is driving everyone in the consulting class crazy, and I love that. Not being into anal, um, er.....that kind of gratification, I'm not laughing at the manner of the man's melt down, just that he melted down that badly.

Catherine, I can't remember conversing with you but I see you've been for Cruz (like SOC and CEW and myself) for a while. I like and appreciate that. I've been a Reagan conservative, full throated into what RR called the three legged stool, and I have to say the immigration issue at this moment trumps (couldn't help myself) the others for me right now.

What he recently wrote down as policy is almost as perfect as we will get. It got me cheering, because without that kind of change, there will be no more country that we have been used to. It wipes out the rats hope of a permanent majority of aggregate victims. It wipes out the stupidity of the GOP big money donors. It has more than warmed me to his candidacy, it has me shocked in the finest of ways.

SOC and CEW, you know my concerns that he is not reflexively conservative and has been very liberal at times. You share them. He has issues that I do not like, but if he is serious about half of what he is saying, and he can out bankroll any democrat in the general, stare down the media and all the pc nonsense, then I'm beginning to look hard and soften my stance on him.

I understand not trusting him, but it is possible we have a personally flawed man as our candidate that is like a Churchill, equally flawed, but in his unique way perfect for that time.

All I know is with the new immigration policy proposal, he blew open the race for a third time since he entered, and I can no longer discard his personna, his brilliance, his influence, his courage, nor his executive capacity as a business man as he stakes out the issues he highlights. What he has done is stand up against the evil of the democrats, the evil of the media, the stupidity, timidity and greed of the GOP and done it without apologizing.

I still may not vote for him come the time of our primary, there is a long way to go, but I can no longer ignore and throw away how he has transformed the timidity of the candidates (even Cruz), nor ignore that he is sounding most of the right notes.

I've never seen anything like this. And no, I no longer believe it's bamster2 hero worship, the bamster never said how he would transform America, Trump is saying what he wants to do up front.

Tis a conundrum.

It isn’t a conundrum for me, Lakeshark.

First of all, I’m calling you on labeling Ted Cruz as “timid.” That is absolute crap and I thought Freepers knew it. That kind of thing started only when folks started getting infatuated with Trump. Maybe they needed to try and tell themselves lies in order to justify their Trumpmania, I don’t know. But you SHOULD know that Cruz has been a pit bull since day one.

No, he doesn’t flail around yelling and acting like a child...he’s a grown up pitbull.

Yes, Trump has stood up against the media, the GOP, etc., etc. So has Cruz, who does it for the country and the Constitution. Has Trump ever mentioned the Constitution?

I frankly get tired of posting his countless and multiplying liberal statements, actions, and contradictions, because Trump fans are like liberals in that they ignore information they don’t like. They either justify it or refuse to see it. See, that’s what happens when you throw your support behind a Democrat. You end up having to wiggle left to keep doing so.

If you think Trump is going to deport illegals, then you believe that he’s still going to bring out all that blockbuster information on Obama’s birth certificate...you know, the stuff he was going to release any moment.

He’s already contradicting hiw own plan, LOL. It’s on the forum. He said that foreigners who come to the US to go to school should stay and should not be thrown out.

See, he’s a liberal trying to sound good to conservatives. You can only do that for so long before tripping up.

You say it isn’t a hero worship thing, but I wish you could step back and really absorb the tone of your post. It’s filled with the fervent passion and elation of the Trump syndrome.

Yes, it’s a cult of personality. It’s undeniable. I’ve seen his fans say we should dump the Constitution and install him as a dictator, that he should govern by writing illegal executive orders like Obama. A handful of Freepers have admitted yeah, he’s a Democrat, but maybe a Dem will be an improvement.

I’ve seen Trump-—Donald Trump!-—compared to Reagan, William Wallace (LOL), Jesus, and Churchill.

Like you just did, in fact.

LAKE: I hear ya.....fully understand where you’re coming from...and without a doubt - we’ve never ever seen anything quite like this before. Newt broke some of this ground four years ago, but this is a whole new level.

And much of it’s good.VERY VERY GOOD. If he’s nominated, I’’ll vote for him as often as they let me....but he’s still a reflexive liberal....and still.....YET TO MENTION limited government or the Constitution. That’s problematic. We’re likely to find out a lot of his bluster on immigration is just that, and we may buy that at a severe price of putting a reflexive liberal in the Oval.
