I guess it’s only bad if they have acid rain, as that converts the NaCN to hydrogen cyanide (HCN).

And you get acid rain if you have sulfuric pollutants from high-sulfur coal, or from poorly catalyzed autos.

Oh wait... I’ve seen (but not seen through) Beijing smog.

I would say that a Cyanide Thunderstorm beats mere “acid rain” all to heck.
