We don’t really trust him. But he is accomplishing many useful ends for us.
- Making the GOPe wake up and soil their diapers each morning.
- Keeping their slime tactics at bay with the threat to go third-party
- Raising immigration to the top issue and pretty much short-circuiting any attempts to pass amnesty
- Smacking the media around in a way they’ve had coming at least since the 70’s.
- Putting “Make America Great Again” out there as a theme like has not been done since Reagan
At the end of the day Trump is not all that conservative, but if he forces the GOP to come in a distant third with some RINO candidate, so that they go away like the Whigs, it definitely serves our long-term interests.
Trump is all over the map politically if you look back over the years. What he is, is a pro-American nationalist which is not the same thing as a conservative.
But a lot of people are ready for a pro-American nationalist, including a lot of Democrats.
So while Cruz is the real thing, Cruz is the guy who we really need, Trump is the guy who is able to make himself heard over the media noise machine. I’m of the opinion that Trump actually helps Cruz by being such a lightning rod, and Cruz’s numbers are going up. I hope I’m right.
I don’t trust Trump on a lot of issues but he’s right on immigration and it is of such crucial, existential importance that I’m willing to fight him on other points where need be just to get immigration right.
Beck is an embarrassment. But he can still identify a liberal from 100 yards away.
We also know once elected, he won't sit down and whine about how he is only 1/3 of the government. In his world, results are how one is measured. The most attractive feature though is that he smacks the press around. That too is a very good thing.
Beck is no more conservative than Will or SourKrauthammer
When he told Sean that Trumps prio liberal positions disqualified him
I that if that is grounds then why are you here claiming to be conservative?
We all know your history and current positions on Homos
He’s on radio now bashing Trump
Beck radio right now
What a self aggrandizing egomaniac
There’s no impasse, Beck. You’re a vote. Not a mormon god. Go baptize some dead spirit wives or something.
Although I loathe Allahpundit, he does hit on something that hits close to home with me. For my entire adult life as a self-described conservative, I always had a sharp trust and faith in the individual over the state. That’s totally died for me in the past handful of years, as I’ve seen the country’s culture and character slide into the sewer. Hence, I now no longer have any faith or trust in the American individual either. And for me it probably does contribute to my increased attraction to iconoclastic, devil-may-care characters like Trump.
Shouldn’t conservative Beck be down at the border welcoming illegals with teddy bears and soccer balls?
Pray America is waking
Glenn Beck can be a fake conservative but he knows talk radio is not for liberal. The guy is annoying, he sounds a copycat Alex Jones.
And I don’t understand why Beck trusts Rand, Rubio, or Walker.
Trump believes marriage is the union of one man and one woman. He disagreed with Anthony Kennedy’s decision. Beck on the other hand says marriage is a “civil right” for anyone that we can’t deny “civil rights” to anyone. Trump right, Beck wrong.
degree of conservatism X probability of being elected = popularity
Beck sounded like a whining rambling idiot on Hannity last night. Just like all Trump haters who don’t really know why they don’t like him. They just know they don’t like him. But then sooner or later they start to like him!
It just may be that Trump is running as an American...not beholden to either side by money nor influence. The same can be said of Sanders is some aspect. The fact is, this country is about done with the same old same old. Oh, and what a battle that would be... Trump v Sanders.
The joy!
And what a donnybrooke.
Beck is correct:
There is nothing in Trump’s past that shows he’s a conservative.
Hannity was busted by Beck on why it was so important to judge Obama on his past yet he ignores everything in Trumps past.
What Glen doesn’t ‘get’ is that it is not a matter of trust. The crowd in DC has already made us distrust everything a politician says.
It is about the message and Trump’s apparent willingness to take on the PC police and not back down.
I don’t understand it either.
Is it because they trust Trump? Or because they don’t trust the rest of the people running, most of whom are run-of-the-mill professional politicians?
