I honestly don't know what you're argument is. You point to a definition of 'subject' vs 'citizen', but how is that relevant? Are you seriously saying that only subjects can be subject to the jurisdiction of the government?

Ummm, because the argument over the citizenship clause turns on that term? I can't think of any other reason.

No, I'm not saying it, the common usage of the term when the 14th Amendment was written is saying it. You are impressing your preferred and plastic interpretation of the word "subject" at will and expecting the rest of us to buy it.

I object to being subjected to your subjective use of "subject," and will no longer torture electrons dealing with your willful misconstructions.

There is a difference between legal language and common usage. Deal with it.
