Why not? NEVER UNDERESTIMATE the power that a President has to shape public opinion. The makeup of the state legislators already makes conservative ideas a very real possibility - having a President that is willing and able to CONNECT with the people to force something like this into law should never be taken lightly. If Trump needs to amend the Constitution, he may well pull it off, and very quickly.

One need not have to get an amendment and its subsequent passage by the states. Just enforce the 14th Amendment's original intent: it was passed to give citizenship to the children of slaves brought against their will.

This bs of giving citizenship to babies born by mostly Mexican pregnant women & girls for walking across the road into San Diego, is against the spirit of the 14th Amendment!

Don't need to stinkn Constitutional Amendment for a number of reasons.

1) that is not what the original 14th amendment was passed for. It was to ensure the slaves were full citizens. Once again the courts have done a number on the 14th Amendment.

2) Baraq Millhouse Obama has already proved that Conditional Amendments are not required - just issue EOs from the Rainbow Hut. If Baraq can do it there is nothing stopping a GOP Pres from continuing the precedent.

No constitution is needed. Reread the 14th ammendment. It doesn’t apply to the children of people here illegally. The only Supreme Court ruling refers to legal aliens.

The problem isn't with the 14th amendment, but with its interpretation. If we had a decent Supreme Court, they could argue based on Original Intent that the 14th amendment wasn't written to create anchor babies for illegal immigrants, but to guarantee citizenship to freed slaves and their children. If SCOTUS has the authority to make up non-existent "rights" like homosexual marriage, they certainly have the authority to put a stop to anchor babies based on original intent.
