Well.....hey hey....

A few months ago I got a bulldog puppy also!

Now my story is a little different from yours as to dogs. My bulldog is an AMERICAN Bulldog which looks exactly like yours only with tall legs. I love that dog and I own her along with Jackie, my rescue dog of 5 years. They love each other but talk about giving up your freedom.

Here’s my thoughts to you on the matter....getting a dog is an investment. It’s an investment for the next 15 or so years but nonetheless, there is required time and determination to that investment.

Onyx....the next six months of your time will be revolving around that puppy. And if you’re ever considering TWO dogs, (which I have now), now is time to do it. Not suggesting but remember, for the next fifteen years your life is going to revolve, in a fashion, around the dog or dogs in your life.

But if you do it right....that’s all you need. Six months to get an investment of fine, well-behaved loving company for the next fifteen years of your life, may well be the final fifteen years of your life not that I would type that or anything.

Consider using a crate and know that puppies poop, pee and tear up stuff.

But I know you already know this. My view of the next fifteen years involved dogs because everyone needs a dog or two in their life.

And I worked it, really I did. When I got Jackie she had just been spayed at the pound, she was sick, pooping and throwing up for a week. I was devoted, however, because I knew she was perfect for me. At the time I didn’t want a puppy.

Then Jackie was very needy and hated me to leave and tore up the house. Now she feels happy to be in her forever home and so she is.

I got Blanca after nutjob daughter got a pair of American bull dogs with visions of raising puppies and getting rich. Her dog had 13 puppies, 12 lived, and she had to give everyone of them away.

One to me. Getting a puppy when you already own a full grown dog...hey it worked for me. Not that Jackie didn’t join Blanca in her badness that now has me hanging everything from the ceiling lest Blanca think it is food.

Anyway, gone on enough. I watched Clare McCaskill trying to defend Hillary while Trey Gowdy did everything he could to avoid calling Hillary a common criminal.

....it made me laugh.

Oh my goodness gracious, me oh my!

I am blown away by how much we have in common, including puppy dog's!

You're so right that dogs are an investment! This one comes with a hefty price tag...lol. I know you mean a 'time-wise' investment.’ Puppies give so much love and they're entitled to receive love and care in return.

Actually, you're right again, because I have been thinking ..."maybe two puppies would be better than one," and I've also been thinking, "maybe I want to breed French Bulldogs." Yes! Even at my age! One or two litters, that's all.

Our Pug, Jack lived 19 years and Jack died 18 months prior to my husband. Jack was the only puppy we raised from 8 weeks onward. He was most assuredly "worth his investment," and then some, but my husband would always stay home with Jack, instead of accompanying me to the Cayman's or CA.

Thank you from my heart for conversing with me today! I already feel much better about my puppy decision! In fact, I think I'll go shopping for my puppy tomorrow! Heck, maybe even later on today! I've been making a list of items he will need and now, thanks to you, I've added a nice crate to my list! IIRC, Petco carries lovely crates and Petco is no more than a mile from my front door!

I had been sort of worried about our hardwood floors and Persian rugs, but no more! He can sleep in the crate until he's completely trained.
