I recently attended an attempted murder hearing in the south. What I saw was a “Good Old Boys” network where even the public defender was a part of the group.

The police and fire department testimony was in direct contradiction to their depositions and the defense attorney did nothing. It was a farce.

The DA was a complete idiot, claiming that the defendant stock piled ammunition to set up an ambush when all the ammunition was for his military machine gun not in his possession and all he had was a 9 mm with a few rounds. The whole thing was a frame job to cover for the complete idiocy of the police.

I do not doubt your story at all. I myself have witnessed these kinds of abuses of power. But institutionalized corruption always starts from the top down. We need to demand honesty, fairness, and legality from all our local governments, including the police departments.

With that being said, blanket statements about ALL cops is counterproductive. Nor is it true. Its not every single one of them. Corrupt cultures in police departments need to be brought into line. The bad eggs from the top down need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law when they commit heinous acts. I believe that should be the focus.
