In a commencement speech given to graduates at Dillard University on Saturday, Washington charged them with an assignment that cannot go unnoticed.
“No. 1: Put. God. First!” said Denzel. “Put God first in everything you do. Everything I have is by the grace of God. Understand that. It’s a gift.”
Washington spoke about his humble beginnings and then charged the students to “fail big” and keep things in perspective as they reach for their goals.
“And while you’re down there [on your knees], say thank you. Thank you for grace, thank you for mercy, thank you for understanding, thank you for wisdom, thank you for parents, thank you for love, thank you for kindness, thank you for humility, thank you for peace, thank you for prosperity. Say thank you in advance for what’s already yours.”
“Don’t just aspire to make a living,” said Washington, “aspire to make a difference.”

He is a good guy... I remember a few years back when he was being interviewed on television, they wanted him to trash the war effort: he calmly said my son is in the military.

Denzel Washington is a fine actor and a gentleman. He has my respect.
Nowhere does it quote ‘them’ saying what the headline charges ‘them’ saying.

In every profession there are a few shining lights. Mr. Washington is a much bigger star than even he knows.

What a shame this is the exception to the rule now. He’s a role model for all.
I remember a few years ago he toured an Army burn unit . Wrote them a check for $ 1,000,000.
So did he say jesus? Saying god is safer and easier because it can be a generic god which more people tolerate. Saying jesus or the Lord is when you get in trouble.
The Holy Trinity puts God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Ghost as three separate entities but one as a whole. It makes no logic but it doesn’t have to. its justification thru faith. they are all equal yet the two were begotten by God.
