Actually as we were walking out to the plane, the handler would assess us and find the ‘largest’ person and say ‘um, we really need to seat you here’. No reasons. But anyone with a brain would figure it out...the times I flew nobody raised a stink about it. The ‘designated seat’ was in a row by itself with a window. Who’d complain about that? I asked once why they did that and the handler explained ‘load distribution’...
Hey Giorgy...Uzbeks drank my battery fluid.
Heck, Ryan Air (the most disagreeable puddle jumper in Europe) has been doing this for years. Step on the scale, and then pick up your luggage. They have a draconian baggage policy, they treat you like garbage and it’s frankly not worth flying airlines like this.
I knew this would happen!
I was deployed to Uzbekistan. Most Uzbeks are on the skinny side & among the young there is a nostalgic myth that under Soviet rule everyone had enough to eat.
Young Uzbek women can be quite attractive. Some are Turkic, others look almost Russian. IMO the least Islamic of all the Muslim states.
Not surprised that they look askance at the seriously fatted.
Seemed on every flight, I was trapped next to or between the 400lb German that doesn't bathe or the 18-yr old meth mother with a 18-month old that screams all the time.
And I’m cherubic!
Weight and balane are critical to the performance and safety of an aircraft! It is not unusual for pilots of small planes to weigh passengers and their luggage. Sounds like a good idea for this airline to do the same.
A friend and I were flying a puddle jumper in Alaska to meet the floatplane to go hunt caribou. We were asked our weights at the gate and gave them. Sat down and a pair of women came up, one regular, one husky. The attendant asked their weights and regular said 128. Husky got flushed and nervous and said 185. The attendant lady said the reason we ask is because we don’t want to overload the plane and crash and die. She said, uh, then make it 245. OK, have a seat until we board.
