Sanders is drawing large crowds because the country has moved sharply to the left over the past decade. We do indeed seem poised to vote in Western European-style Social Democracy.

Do not overlook that Sanders appears before friendly venues like Seattle Portland and LA, three anchors of the Left Coast, as well as the socialistically inclined farm country of the Great Plains midwest.
