they are the Trump supporters of today IMO....many of them anyway.
They were warned then....by many, including myself, who took heat and flames from blind Freepers. History repeats....
Akin shot himself in the foot, then shot himself in the other foot.
Actually, she picked the candidate most disliked by the media’s most profitable demographics. Ensuring the media would be the most hostile to him.
It’s a very good article (her bias doesn’t even need comment). This is how campaigns are conducted.
Fascinating inner workings of totalitarians. Thanks for posting.
It was not GOP voters, Dems crossed over to vote in the primary. She would have lost to Sara Steelman.
If I may also add, my home state of Louisiana FINALLY dumped Landrieu last fall and the GOP nominee, then congressman Cassidy, was kept out of the limelight for most of the runoff..even went to DC to vote during the last week of campaigning..even though Cassidy is smarter than Akin (who isn't?), no one wanted to him to take the chance of blowing the election with a stupid gaffe.
Steelman was the only candidate who could have brought down Mother McCaskill.
McCaskill viewed Akin as the weakest opponent for her, and in that she was probably right. But it was far from a slam-dunk and the race was still winnable by the GOP...until Akin had his nuclear mealtdown on TV. So Claire shouldn’t take much of the credit. Todd went out of his way to help.
This is the kind of $$$ funding Jeb, and the Kids Table candidates.
Not that simple. The candidates: businessman John Brunner, Rep. Todd Akin and former state treasurer and senator Sarah Steelman all had appeal and weakness. Sarah was the one to like, but I think her handlers hurt her. John was a favorite, but came across as a slick politician in a B comedy movie. Todd was the clear conservative and truly a nice person. He clocked the other two in the debates. Even Roveâs group supported him. The rape comment killed him. Claire is done in Missouri and is hoping stories like this will make her look good in the political afterlife.
Give credit where it’s due, this is a fantastic piece that describes some of the ‘inside baseball’ that accompanies every campaign effort, no matter the party.
Couple this piece with Trump’s succinct explanation of the relationship between money and power — “Ill tell you what, with Hillary Clinton I said be at my wedding and she came to my wedding” — and it should dispel any illusions about the nature of politics, power, and money.
