Donald Trump was grilled Tuesday about not having concrete plans to back up many of his promises and he responded by saying, “You have to understand when you’re coming up with a plan in business, you have to be flexible.”
Trump, speaking at a campaign event in Birch Run, Michigan stated, “I recently bought something, not so recently, but Doral in Miami, everybody wanted it. If I would have sat down and said ‘Here’s a 12 point plan to get Doral.’ I didn’t do that. I went in and punched and punched and beat the hell out of people and I wound up getting it.”
Reporter: You have said right now you’re going to be great on women, you’re going to be great on China, you’ll be great on ISIS, you’ll be great on jobs.
Donald Trump: Hopefully everything.
Reporter: Fine, we haven’t heard a lot of, I talked to people outside the venue today. And they say where’s the meat on the bone? When are you going to tell us what you are going to replace Obamacare with? How you will fix China? How will you create jobs?
Trump: Ok well, first of all, and ISIS. You didn’t bring up ISIS. What happened?
Reporter: I did, but you didn’t listen. Where’s the plan?
Trump: I think you’re going to see lots of plans and you see also, and you have to understand when you’re coming up with a plan in business, you have to be flexible. There’s got to be flexibility. And I recently bought something, not so recently, but Doral in Miami, everybody wanted it. If I would have sat down and said, ‘Here’s a 12 point plan to get Doral.’ I didn’t do that. I went in and punched and punched and beat the hell out of people and I wound up getting it. Everybody wanted it. All of the smart money wanted it. The OPO, the old post office on Pennsylvania Avenue, everybody wanted it. I got it. In the Obama administration I got it, which is pretty shocking considering that Pritzker wanted it which is Hyatt and lots of other people. I got it because I know how to get things, I know how to get things done. You can’t sit down and say, ‘Well, I’m going to come up with a 19 point plan to get the old post office and create it into a great hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue.’ The most sought after property, I think in the history the history of the General Services Administration. Trump got it. I’m not an Obama person. You probably heard that. You have to be able to have flexibility, you have to be able to do certain things.
Reporter: Now you’re just asking people to trust you.
Trump: Well, I think there has to be a trust. There actually does have to be a trust. If you don’t trust, you’re not going to do very well.
Trump also knows this candidate game is a battle of strategy. If you set down a policy in stone, the opposition will pick it apart and use is against you. Trump can give the goal of his policy but the method to that goal is something he keeps secret. You don’t want the opposition to know your plans so they can counter them.
He was on Hannity also.
Here’s my take... and you tell me how you feel.
FOr me, the more I hear Trump talk, the more I read his writing, the more I like and believe in him.
The more I listen to Bush and Clinton and some of the others like Santorum, the more I dislike them.
Trump resonates with me, because he makes sense.
I think I can say the same with Cruz, and Carli. CArson too, but Trump the most.
Secondly, it’s too early for plans. The people want to hear broad goals.
A candidate who has to convince me to vote for him is one thing. A candidate I have to convince myself to vote for is another.
Hannity is going to have Trump on again Wednesday night for the second part of his interview. I like what Windflier posted:
” I don’t know if you’re equating Trump to a ponzi artist, or if you’re merely using that as an analogy to describe the way you feel about his candidacy.
If it’s the former, I disagree, for the simple fact that Donald Trump has lived (and earned) a life of success far beyond the measure of most humans’ wildest dreams. He has no need to snooker anyone for any reason, in that area.
He’s conquered goals and vanquished foes of all types throughout his career, and has little to prove to himself or anyone else, at this point. He’s the proverbial ‘king of the mountain’, so what’s motivating him to run for the presidency?
There’s actually no logical answer to that question, except that he honestly wants to parlay his power, influence, business management skills, force of personality, and dogged determination as a man, to help correct the disastrous course this country is on.
There can be no other reason, because he has no other mountains to climb in this life. The presidency isn’t a step up for him, a feather in his cap, or yet another trophy on his mantle. It’s commitment of terrible proportions - an invitation to take on something few honest men would relish. It’s a willing step into the jaws of hell - that is, if you’re actually intent on doing the sort of job he’s talking about.
If your intent is to simply play president like most who’ve held the office, then it’s a step into riches and boundless lifelong perks, which is what most of his competitors would do, if elected.
What would Donald Trump gain by functioning like that, as president? Tell me how playing ball with the DC cartel would gain him anything he doesn’t already have in life? Things that he built or achieved with his own hands, on his own terms, without having to suck up to, or play ball with decrepit oligarchs?
Not a damn thing, which leaves only one reason he wants your vote. It’s to enable him to roll up his sleeves and do the job Americans have been pleading with their leaders to do for decades now.”
That being said, I agree with Trump that the DC cartel is totally incompetent. They are too busy figuring out how to line their pockets with our tax dollars than to fix this nation’s problems. They are like kids who get a brand new car from their parents. In little time they run the car to the ground and roll it into the ditch. They could care less because they didn’t have to work for it. These are the real pigs The Donald talks about. They could care less it their decrepit oligarchy is turning America into a fascist state. Fascism is the surest path to self destruction. It is the sickness The Donald is most aware of, and he is the cure.
The Donald knows this nation is going down and why it is going down and who is doing it. As President, he will have lots of power to do something about it. I hope he will make those who tried to roll America into the ditch accountable.
I didn’t see Hannity but I read many of Trump’s comments and they were fairly specific without giving the game away.
While I think many of these guys can beat Hillary, I don't think they can do so if in the meantime they alienate Trump or his supporters.

Oh, hard to tell because the only posts I see are attacking Trump, not supporting anyone.
I like Trump. I’ve liked him from day one, although I was concerned that he was not sincere.
I think everything is timing.
Most of the electorate want to hear broad strokes, not details. Right now, saying “you are going to be so proud of being an American again”, resonates with all people, black, white, yellow, green, etc etc.
You pair him up with Cruz, and my God, how can we lose?
Timing is everything.
When the time comes, which may be tonight, and he promises NOT to run as a third party, all he*l is going to break loose, and he will shoot to 40%. Game, set, match.
You know, I don’t blame him for not pledging to run as 3rd party. If he did that, they would open on him with all guns loaded - and he knows it - until they destroy his candidacy. Then they would expect his supporters to vote for the crappy candidate they choose - and once again lose another election.
