Very few know that the majority of what PP does is abortions, yet they hear the PP talking points of Breast Cancer Screening, birth control, etc and may make the agreement that defunding the abortion parts would be the compromise they could agree with Trump on.

Trump made a political statement a.) to signal he was against abortion, and b.) to keep the media from pouncing all over him and accuse him of a “war on women”. That is all it is.
