Donald Trump suggests he’s open to keeping taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood

One week after calling for a government shutdown if necessary to defund Planned Parenthood, presidential candidate Donald Trump has expressed willingness to let the abortion giant receive federal tax dollars for non-abortion services, Breitbart reports.

In an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, Trump said Planned Parenthood is “like an abortion factory, frankly” and professed to “feel strongly about” cutting off government funding for abortion. But he went on to say that as president he would “look at the individual things they do… I’m sure they do some things properly and good and that are good for women,” because “we have to take care of women.”

In addition, Trump reiterated his opposition to elective abortion, but clarified that he supports exceptions for rape, incest, and in life of the mother cases.

Breitbart’s John Nolte criticized Trump as accepting “a status quo many conservatives find unacceptable and immoral; also a typical federal government shell game to skirt around the law.” He noted that “If you give Planned Parenthood money for these so-called ‘other things,’ the abortion provider can shift money from those ‘other things’ to abortion.”

Live Action News has previously reported that Donald Trump described himself as “very pro-choice in every respect,” including support for partial-birth abortion, in 1999, but in 2011 claimed to have became pro-life after seeing friends grow to love a child they had initially considered aborting, an anecdote he reiterated in last week’s presidential debate.

seems Trump is learning. The key here is “take care of women”. That is all low information voters will hear.

I don't know if you're equating Trump to a ponzi artist, or if you're merely using that as an analogy to describe the way you feel about his candidacy.

If it's the former, I disagree, for the simple fact that Donald Trump has lived (and earned) a life of success far beyond the measure of most humans' wildest dreams. He has no need to snooker anyone for any reason, in that area.

He's conquered goals and vanquished foes of all types throughout his career, and has little to prove to himself or anyone else, at this point. He's the proverbial 'king of the mountain', so what's motivating him to run for the presidency?

There's actually no logical answer to that question, except that he honestly wants to parlay his power, influence, business management skills, force of personality, and dogged determination as a man, to help correct the disastrous course this country is on.

There can be no other reason, because he has no other mountains to climb in this life. The presidency isn't a step up for him, a feather in his cap, or yet another trophy on his mantle. It's commitment of terrible proportions - an invitation to take on something few honest men would relish. It's a willing step into the jaws of hell - that is, if you're actually intent on doing the sort of job he's talking about.

If your intent is to simply play president like most who've held the office, then it's a step into riches and boundless lifelong perks, which is what most of his competitors would do, if elected.

What would Donald Trump gain by functioning like that, as president? Tell me how playing ball with the DC cartel would gain him anything he doesn't already have in life? Things that he built or achieved with his own hands, on his own terms, without having to suck up to, or play ball with decrepit oligarchs?

Not a damn thing, which leaves only one reason he wants your vote. It's to enable him to roll up his sleeves and do the job Americans have been pleading with their leaders to do for decades now.

Planned Parenthood took the hint from Donald Trump and wasted no time in showing acknowledgment and appreciation. This, just in. It might be good to go to the following thread and ping your lists from there.

Feel free to use it but please don’t single out Trump because he’s not a single offender. Many of these clowns in Congress are singing this tune.

Apparently the Trumpets are saying that quoting Trump agreeing with GOPE here is a GOPE attack on Trump.

You cannot follow that logic.

JedJo: The gubbermint has no bizness propping up organizations that can’t survive on their own.

THANK YOU. Well said. Trump rationalizes PP's very existence with, “... we have to take care of women.”

What Trump really means by "we" is "our government." The concept of limiting government OUT of assuming roles of charity ("we have to take care of women" is a form of charity, a moral obligation to help those in need), is alien to Trump. Let men and women take care of themselves, including taking care of charity. The government (Trump's "we") has zero business assuming roles of charitable organizations. The "we" Trump refers to deserves zero role in "taking care of women."

Not only state by state, but I think across the country and instead put resources into women's health issues but put them into noncontroversial entities..........

I'd like him better if he'd have said, "instead return those resources to the taxpayers." All Walker is calling for is to tax the same, just spend on different government entities.

*sigh*

Well, I would like to know what exactly are the good aspects of these Nazi ghouls?

What exactly is positive about extracting the blood and treasure out of poor people and turning into profit and political power?

IMO Trump is saying what he thinks conservatives want to hear. Being uninformed and not conservative himself, it’s bound to not come out right.

Bingo.
