I have a roku, have had it for years. I think it is the same as the amazon fire. You do need one device for each tv you plan on watching. We have a switch on the tv cabinet to change from local tv to roku.

I use netflix, Huluplus (same price as netflix) and amazon prime. However, prime does not have very many programs that are free, but I do like the convenience of renting a newer movie if I want.

Huluplus has also added showtime for a $5.00 a month charge. i like huluplus because you get popular shows the day they air, or maybe the next day.

We have also signed up for the baseball channel when relatives were in town and wanted to see a baseball game. I don’t remember the monthly charge, but it was way cheaper than a sports bar. We canceled it after the month was up.

I can only think of a few things I miss by not having cable. One show I like, that I can’t find anywhere is the big bang theory. I have to watch that on my computer on their website. But small price to pay for so much in savings.

One more thing, if you have a wii, you can use that to stream netflix.
