He’s in the lead but I have to think the donors are having second thoughts after he put in the best performance possible in this first debate but got no bump in the polls from it. It may not be his policies that are a turn-off, but the idea of “another Bush” seems to be a turn-off to even the low info primary voters. Not sure why they’d want to back a candidate with such an obvious vulnerability.
It really seems like Fox is hedging their bets by pumping Fiorina up in their coverage. They may be testing the waters to see if she could be the establishment’s replacement for Jeb.
Your wife has to donate now, or your cousin, or your red-haired step child.... :>)
Heck, they may even pull the ace in the hole out and tell Romney to get back in at this point. I think Jeb is going nowhere fast and there’s no saving him. I’m not sure if they’re sure if they can trust Rubio since he started out with Tea Party support and may not have quite enough of a clear track record yet of being cozy with business interests.
There’s also just a slight hint that with Trump being the alternative, they may throw in with Cruz if it’s the only guy they think the primary voters might go for over Trump. They may decide they’ll just try their best to buy off Cruz if they can’t find a true viable candidate firmly in their corner.
I like Cruz but I’m concerned about his amnesty answers. So far it’s Rand for me but I wouldn’t really complain with Cruz either.
No one’s perfect, but my understanding of Cruz is that he rejects illegal immigration, wants the wall built, wants visas and entry controlled. He also supports legal immigration to an extent that I don’t, but that’s one demerit. He has about 3 of them now, but the other candidates are on average worse.
That’s my system. I add up the negatives, add up the positives, and come up with a candidate to support. So far, Cruz is at the top. It’s fair, because I don’t pretend his negatives are non-existent.
Indeed that is Good News!
People evidently sensed that Ted is The Man for The JOB!.
My immediate impression of Mr Cruz was a good one...and it hasnt changed one iota.
I like the pace that Cruz's team has orchestrated for him and the family photos throughout this tour , from Cruz taking a snooze with his daughter on the Bus ...to swinging her around in the courtyard....then a nonscheduled stop at a soldier commemorative site to pray...and finally an emotional moment while standing in a crowd, Cruz unexpectedly ran into a Pastor he had known all his life.
The humanity and graciousness of this man just eludes from him and the people are very comfortable just being there. Then when he speaks the fire is lit, followed by many standing ovations.
It is exciting to see and the pace is so perfect....I agree we are going to see this man continue to have a very secure place in this election...and I am personally hopeful the next President of our Country.
You mean it’s not an average donation size of $940-per like Jeb was getting early on?
See my tagline.
As long as it is "them vs him" Trump will win.
If they were smart they would take a lead from Kasich and praise Trump and attack the Dems.
Honestly, though, even Cruz doesn't get the new celebrity political culture we are in. Trump does.
I haven’t seen the data yet on the fundraising. Have you? They seem to be hiding, or at least not reporting the numbers.
Interesting how much outside PACs are in on this. It’s probably another reason why Trump ran. Hillary! is a fundraising monster.
Good theory.
The difference between Cruz and Trump is that Cruz actually knows how government works from a legal perspective. When Cruz says he’ll do something he knows the technical details of how to do it. With Trump it’s a lot like Clinton saying she’ll build 500,000,000 solar panels. It’s nonsense.
I suppose property rights would align with “free market” on that chart. Trump otherwise would earn a “red” on that as well.
“I like Cruz but Im concerned about his amnesty answers. So far its Rand for me but I wouldnt really complain with Cruz either.”
What concerns you about Cruz’s “amnesty answers”? The fact that he’s been consistently opposed to ILLEGAL immigration his entire career?
Meanwhile, Rand has waffled on this issue and even showed initial support for Rubio’s gang of 8 fiasco.
Maybe I missed something somewhere, but could you please enlighten me on how Rand has a stronger track record opposing amnesty than Cruz?
I additionally contributed the max to the general this morning. That’s effectively a loan to the campaign.
I’m impressed. I’m going to have to space mine out quarterly.
If not Cruz, who? If not now, when?
Early Money Is Like Yeast!
I really shouldn’t be placing such chunks of money into politics. But I’ll just puke if I’m stuck with Bush v. Clinton. I can’t live with myself. So, I’m stretching.
