You have that right. I remember, not so many years ago, that a “farmer’s market” would offer produce actually trucked in fresh from local farms, at a savings over the same products in the retail groceries. This is no longer the case.

Those days are long gone.

I do have a neighbor farmer who grows the BEST corn....and he had kept his ears at 50¢ each for the past several years.

I don’t know how he does it with ever rising taxes and cost of tractor fuel....but I am very grateful for his harvest.

Once in a while, you can find a homeowner who has a table in their front yard...with a coffee can *honor system*...and they can be quite reasonable.
