whay didnt donnie come out ...as a thrid party candidate?
its not as though he lacks the resources to do so and its certainly not because of any lack of foresight as to his position “within” “the party”
hes playing a very serious game..but its still a game.

It is a very good question.
I have no way of knowing what is in Trump's heart, or Perot's for that matter. But I can speculate with the best of them.
Probably the main reason to try for the (R) ticket is to guarantee being seen on all 50 state ballots. IIRC Perot didn't get on all the ballots, or maybe he did in 1992 but not 1996. Somebody can easily look that up.
Another reason is for the publicity, I mean his campaign is dominating everything right now and I cannot see how he would have a fraction of that if he was running 3rd party. The (D) and (R) machines have huge publicity built-in because of the party debates and all the media always go straight for them.
It might be personal because of some problem with Bush, which by the way was true with Perot.
From my standpoint of long believing that the (R)epublicrat party must killed or conquered, I cannot possibly ask for more at the moment. He has flushed the rats out of the bowels of the ship, and many are surprising, like that fat RedState "conservative leader" who turns out to be a (R)at party shill. These people who actually think they are kingmakers, who literally want to decide who you get to see in the debates and vote for, are the enemy. Period.
I was completely woken up when Keyes was taken out of the debates by the Bush43 cowards, the (R)at machine and the news media. It was because Keyes would decimate the idiot in front of the cameras.
