I don’t think Trump would make a good president, as he does not possess the class, dignity and style of Reagan. I am, however, enjoying the fact that he’s in the race, saying the things that many of the others are not.

I would love to see Trump continue to stir things up as Cruz gains more attention. Trump will, hopefully, then drop out and Cruz can take the Trump people.

Trump is more dignified than he appears.

He enjoys being outrageous...but he loves his country more.

Yours is a popular scenario on FR but here’s why it has little chance of coming true. First, the country is a very different place than it was 35 years ago when Reagan was elected - you only need to look around to realize not only how different it is, but how upside-down, inside-out dramatically different, especially in terms of values, ethics, and style. As much as some may hope for a return to the good old days, we know it never happens.

Secondly, it is not in Donald Trump’s nature to “drop out” of anything. As long as he’s convinced it’s worth spending his own money to continue - why would he? Inability to raise money is the #1 reason candidates drop out.

Finally, it’s a pretty big leap to assume that all those favoring Trump would automatically go to Cruz.

Trump is a competent executive who knows how to run large organizations. He sure as Hell is better than the community organizer in the WH and the Rep Senator candidates who have only run small senate staffs. Governors are more qualified than them.
