Thatseems to be true, and I agree with you. In spite of this, it seems apparent that she had not been previously married, and their devotion to one another was remarkable, as well as their avoidance of the appearance of immorality. From Wiki on their relationship:
"The two began dating and their relationship was the subject of many gossip columns; one Hollywood press account described their nightclub-free times together as 'the romance of a couple who have no vices'."
FWIW.
Reckon he does quite a lot of buffin' and rebuffin' in his spare time.
When she marries him, she will be bored silly in bed, and secretly despise him for continually pedestalizing her the way he has been told to, when she knows deep down she doesn't deserve it anymore.
And he will likely end up being cheated on, then divorced.
The problem is with the young women, not the men.
Like Ferris Bueller said..."Cameron has never been in love - at least, nobody's ever been in love with him. If things don't change for him, he's gonna marry the first girl he lays, and she's gonna treat him like #@$@, because she will have given him what he has built up in his mind as the end-all, be-all of human existence. She won't respect him, 'cause you can't respect somebody who kisses your ass. It just doesn't work. "
Titus 2:3-5 says
3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
Your job is to keep the young WOMEN in church in line, to teach them to be self-controlled and pure...and once they are married, to make sure they love and their husbands and are subject to them, so that no one will malign the Word of God.
How many sermons in your church stress purity and self-control for women as being something the women need to practice and emphasize?
ESTO VIR!
there is nothing manly in being unchaste.
If something stops a 14 year old from getting some, it is more likely faggotry than the "Word of God".
In my world messages, curriculum, sermons and bible studies addressing purity are about 10:1 for girls vs boys. Trust me, Christian girls and their mothers are getting the message. The reason I commented on boys is that the article was regarding young men.
I also found the snarky comment implying that the young man was a homo since he didn’t roll around naked with a pretty girl just because she was willing offensive. Mocking God’s commands, as well as those who strive to follow them, is about as unbiblical as one can get.
That’s just it. These diseased whores don’t necessarily look diseased; in fact, most of them probably look enticing. AIDS & other VD’s don’t show right away. - My husband got “involved” with a whore several years ago; swore nothing happened. I bought it. I wouldn’t buy it again. - At the time, we had a small child (7 yrs. old) & I didn’t relish having to raise him by myself. - To this day, I don’t really know what sort of disease he may have brought in on me & I have no way of finding out at this late date. He & I share doctors. I don’t dare even mention this whore (who is now almost 70 yrs. old herself). The few times I have; he goes off at me like a house afire. - When I went over to her trashy apartment to confront her, she had a man staying there with her. (Husband refused to believe that!) I’ve wondered since then if she’s dead, if possibly some woman has possibly killed her. She liked to play with fire. Was a slow-gutted gluttonish piglet.
Then complain at the commenter calling them homo. I didn’t do that.
Too bad.
Obviously you have never been a 14 year old boy.
Should a young lady at that point indicate willingness,
not Jesus nor God nor Chuck Norris or the Pope is going
to over ride that drive.
God made us that way.
That drive is there for a reason.
And Barber’s kid may just be a homo.
A key which can open many locks is a valuable key.
A lock which can be easily opened by any key is a worthless lock.
In the mating game, men and women historically brought different things to the table. The man brought his ability to provide and protect his woman and their children. The woman brought her ability to sexually satisfy her man and provide him with children which he could be sure were HIS.
A woman who throws around her gifts for free is seen as considering herself a low-value woman. A man who does not bring a high ability to provide and protect, is a low value man.
If our culture was sane, I would say that marriage at age 17 would be fine. But schooling prevents children from maturing because, until graduation, children never experience significant consequences for their good or bad actions.
Anyway, good article. Real life tends to sober them up. But that doesn't happen these days until they're in their mid to late 20's.
You stated that, as a woman, my response to the offending comment was unbiblical because it was about young men. You also asked a question regarding. I was merely responding to both parts of the comments you directed at me. 1) Why I dared to make a comment regarding boys and purity-which was directed at the commenter calling him a homo, you chose to jump in on that. 2) yes-I hear plenty of messages regarding young women and purity.
Only if he tolerates it. Personally, I would regard a wife's unwillingness to keep her husband sexually happy as a breaking of the marriage vows, just as bad as adultery.
Yes, He did.
That drive is there for a reason.
Yes, it is.
However, is is NOT there for us to abuse it, or to abandon our self-control to it. We are not animals. We are better than animals. We are made in His image.
I HAVE been a 14 year old boy, and I was also offered the opportunity. I also rebuffed it--and it was the best decision in my life. She went on to become pregnant and dropped out of high school. I've been married to a lovely God-fearing woman for over 28 years.
Your immediate judgement of a boy you do not know, and have never met, is highly offensive, which I am sure is something that bothers you to no end.
You are not only an offensive human being, but also an offensive poster. Get over yourself. You, more often than not, have no clue about what is going on the world, though you like to think you do.
I applaud this boy, and believe he will make a great husband to a wonderful lady that he will be able to trust within his marriage.
+1
Then you and I are talking about a different God.

Any woman who propositions you is not going to follow through. She just wants your affirmation.
