To: Conscience of a Conservative

Trump is not a conservative. He’s not a gentleman. He has no political philosophy. He’s not interesting. He says nothing intelligent. His vocabulary is weak. He mistakes bluster and spittle for courage.

The questions were perfectly fine. He’s on TV whining about how the girl picked on him and making a joke about her being on her period. He wants the hardest job in the world and he has a tantrum about unfair questions.

He will never hold elective office. His support right now is a revenge fantasy against the media and the GOP establishment. When the adrenals of the abused conservative base finish squirting, any moment now, Trump’s poll numbers will start their slow, inexorable slide.

I repeat: Donald Trump will not be the GOP nominee this year or ever. He will not be the President, ever.

And I find it amazing how Trump has been able to actually convince so many Republicans that he's one of them. All he had to do was mention the words "illegal aliens" and hundreds of thousands lined up behind him as if he were the Pied Piper of Hamlin.

I have to hand it to him...he understood exactly what he had to say to garner an enviable level of rabid early support. The man knows how to catch mice...he just makes a noise like cheese.

And the mice are completely powerless to resist once they hear that noise.

Frankly I think he would make an excellent president. He would hire the best people to head up each department, give them marching orders and if they didn't perform to expectations, he'd fire them.

Ronald Reagan did that. No president since has done that. Every president since Reagan has filled his cabinet and advisor posts with cronies and stooges.
