TexPat gets it out of his system for Not On This Watch-

My takeaways from engaging feminist/liberals on the abortion topic:

#1: It's only a "baby" if the mother wants it, and then only after it departs the womb. Up until that time it is a "fetus." It is not politically correct to ask, "When is your baby due?" The correct way to phrase it is "When is your fetus due to become a baby?"

#2: Life only begins when the "fetus" becomes "viable" (i.e., can live outside of the womb). Up until that time it is not life and can be terminated based only upon the decision of the mother. You must never use the word "killed."

#3: The mother's consent is all that is needed to allow the abortion facility to use the extracted materials to be sold, repurposed, examined, or otherwise experimented upon. Because the "fetus" is not a "life" it has no human rights (i.e., unalienable rights), and therefore no consent is required for the fetus to become an involuntary organ donor, or to donate its body to science.

#4: Convenience is a perfectly legitimate reason to elect to have an abortion. No further justification is needed.

#5: The definition of "pro-choice" does not include the choices to abstain from sexual relations, nor does it include the choice to use contraception. It only applies to the "right" to choose to terminate the pregnancy. (And you are a bigot, elitist, religious nutjob seeking to impose your own values upon others if you suggest otherwise.)

#6: There is a right to consequence-free sexual relations, which includes consequence-free abortion and the relinquishment of all guilt that might come along with it. ("Pro-Choice" really means "Pro-Consequence Avoidance." They have just chosen a more politically correct term for it.)

#7: "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" is a justification for abortion, because it is the mother's rights to her life, liberty and happiness that prevails. Since the "fetus" is not life, it has no such rights. (Oh, and DON'T ever make them read the first part of the Life, Liberty and Happiness" sentence that mentions the Creator, because then you are imposing religion upon them. That part of the sentence doesn't count. And don't read the first paragraph of the Declaration that talks about the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God. Oh, and they often also believe that these phrases come from the Constitution.)

#8: "Most scientists agree that viability is at about 7 months." Science is now based upon consensus and expert opinion, not proven facts. So the very nature of science has been altered. In addition, don't mention about "how" life begins (a process that CAN be proven scientifically), because that process begins about 7 months before "when" the life begins. (Yeah, I know, wrap your head around that logic.)

#9: The male's contribution to the pregnancy is irrelevant, regardless of the fact that he donated 50% of the fetus' chromosomes.

#10: Abortions must be funded through taxpayer donations because of the "rights" that must be protected by the government. (See #7.)

#11: The grand finale: There are times when abortion is the BEST THING FOR THE BABY!!

What an education I've had. Now I'll go throw up.
