I think some public demonstrations are in order.
This is how Maryland colonists, subjects of the King of England, responded to the Stamp Act:
The crowd fashioned an effigy of the stamp distributor, which they paraded throughout the town in a cart while a bell tolled mournfully. Hoods effigy was then flogged, placed in a pillory, hanged and finally burned. We know how they responded to a despotic king. How would they respond to being ruled by invading foreigners?
There's only one real demonstration that will mean anything - recall the council. It will not just put an end to the nonsense there, but no one else will risk their seat to make political points.
