Wow. Sometimes I try to remind myself that doctors are scientists, and some of those tend toward atheism (my former gynecologist was an atheist). Unfortunately, doctors also have to deal with people on a one-to-one basis, and some of them just haven't developed the skill.

When my mother-in-law was pregnant with my husband, she came down with a case of the measles. Her doctor urged her to abort. Thank God she didn't, but she, too, found a new doctor.

The Hippocratic oath of old, which only knew the classic Greek gods as deities, included an oath not to give an abortive remedy, the only way it could have happened at the time (modern surgery not to be practical for millennia yet).

The actual Lord has to be pretty disappointed how low Christendom has sunk, but there is a reason it has sunk so low.
