Both bets have failed, spectacularly. Sooner or later, helicopters will take off from the roof of the US embassy in Kabul, just like as in Saigon. And the same will most probably happen in Baghdad.
Radical islam is emboldened. The Arab street sees islam as being the winner, long-term. And the Arab street is probably right.
It pains me to say it. I respect George Bush. He had the best of intentions, no doubt. But he lit the fire. Stable regimes have collapsed. Refugees are on the move. And the entire West will pay dearly for this.
But jorge did what jorge wanted, his base notwithstanding.
“I respect George Bush. He had the best of intentions, no doubt. But he lit the fire.”
You gotta be kidding us. In your eyes, it’s as if 9/11 never happened, and Bush went pyro on us just for fun.
You seem more upset with him than soros, who is the mastermind behind the current state of the world, and who will profit the most from the chaos. He was hellbent on destroying Bush.
Do you work for soros?
However, the reason we went into Iraq was to take out Hussein. But while we did that, there was no reason not to try and turn Iraq into a democratic country. Until Obama took over the experiment was shakily succeeding.
What has happened in Iraq simply proves that positive actions can be undone by other people. Obama has put Iraq back in danger by failing to deal with ISIS. That is not Bush's fault.
Churchill saved Britain and Europe from Nazism. Is he discredited because further British p.m.s have let the bacteria of Islam flourish in their country?
Are you kidding? Bush was nothing resembling honest and good. The list is long, but one had to wonder if he purposely set things up for Obama.
The last good and honourable president was Coolidge, though you could argue for Reagan too.
