It appears any wreckage from the search area should have made a full length pass off Western Australia. With the amount of searching in the area off Australia one would think flotsam wreckage could have been spotted much earlier in the process.

Hard to say. Debris could travel a long distance in more than a year & we don’t know how long it might have been there.
