A man named Harlem Suarez, also reportedly known as Almlak Benitez, sympathized with the Islamic State, wanted to bomb a Key West Beach, and also talked about South Beach as a target, according to a criminal complaint unsealed today in federal court in Miami. Department of Justice officials said he was charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction.
According to a DOJ news release, in April 2015, Suarez "came to the attention of the FBI due to Facebook posts that contained extremist rhetoric and promoted the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a designated foreign terrorist organization."

An older woman get somewhat injured when a beach mysteriously “erupted” a little while ago. Here is the recent explanation:
“PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island state officials say they have determined the cause of the July 11 explosion at Salty Brine State Beach in Narragansett that injured a Waterbury woman. Kathleen Danise, 60, suffered fractured ribs as a result of the blast. According to Dr. Arthur Spivack, an oceanographer, it is very likely the incident was caused by a combustion of a build-up of hydrogen gas in the sand, due to the corrosion of an abandoned copper cable that was previously used by the United States Coast Guard.”
