There is an excess of lions where they exist. They have to be harvested or they overpopulate. Lions commonly breed on the reserves and the excess leaves, is driven off or killed by the existing lion structure.

Lions are in danger due to a destruction of habitat, not from sport hunting. Sport hunting preserves habitat by making it profitable. Eliminating sport hunting is a sure way to destroy lion habitat and place the species in danger.

Is that why their on the endangered species list? Is that why they lured this lion off a reserve, wearing a gps collar?
